Morning School
Each of our Nursery Schools operates a morning school programme for children over the age of three. The children attend five mornings a week during the school term. The day begins with a free play session where the children are encouraged to use a variety of equipment and take part in creative activities. Each Nursery School has a computer role play area, dressing up, sand and water facilities and an easel for the children to enjoy free art activities.
The Nursery School curriculum is taught to the children in small age appropriate groups. The curriculum is based on the six areas of learning and the children focus on their numbers, letters and a topic each term which enhances both their knowledge and understanding of the world and creative development.
The timetable also offers many physical activities; the children enjoy regular trips to the park as well as a movement to music, sport and gym sessions weekly.
Music is taught once a week by a specialist member of staff who encourages the children to sing, perform and play the instruments whilst accompanying them on the piano.
All of the Nursery children who attend the morning school are invited to take part in both ballet and swimming lessons. These are optional activities available to children over three years old. Both classes are taught by specialist teachers and they are supported by The Nursery School members of staff.
Fresh fruit is provided as a mid morning snack together with a choice of juice, milk or water.
Afternoon School
Our afternoon school runs at 28 Eccleston Street Nursery School, Ringrose Nursery School, Knightsbridge Nursery School and The Bolton's Nursery School. It caters for those children aged between 2 year 3 months and 3 years old. Each session runs from 2pm to 4pm and parents are invited to choose 3 or 5 afternoon. The Afternoon School Children also follow a daily timetable, similar to the one used in The Morning School. They enjoy a free play session and are then introduced to both their letters and numbers. Many art projects allow them to learn about topics such as Colour, Shape, Transport and Weather, one of which they focus on each term. The afternoon Nursery School children also enjoy a weekly music and gym session and a fresh fruit mid afternoon snack. It is a great all round introduction to life at school and we then welcome these children into our Morning School programme once they reach 3 years old.
Afternoon Clubs
Afternoon Clubs are offered to children aged three and above. This programme allows children who have attended the morning school, to bring a packed lunch and stay for the afternoon session.
Afternoon Clubs are offered at 30 Eccleston Street, Ringrose Nursery School, Knightsbridge Nursery School and The Bolton's Nursery School. They aim to provide a fun and informal range of activities for the children to enjoy. Each day is a different club and parents are able to choose for their children to do either 3 or 5 sessions.
The clubs on offer include French, Cookery, a Creative Workshop, Fitness Fun, Yoga, Pee Wee Karate, Music and Drama.
This programme offers the children a great introduction to life in our transition/reception classes, allowing them to experience a full day at school.
