Early in the Spring term children in Years Four and Five benefit from a fantastic skiing and cultural opportunity in the pretty Savoyarde village of La Clusaz, less then an hour from Geneva.
For many it is their first experience skiing on snow, however with expert tuition from the French ESF and constant supervision from accompanying staff all abilities are well catered for.
The children spend two hours in the morning and two hours in the afternoon in a private ski school, returning at lunch time to the hotel for a hot lunch in front of a roaring fire. Activities such as toboganning and ice skating add to the fun in the evenings.
Each morning the children start the day with an hour's French lesson and they also get a chance to meet their pen friends from the local school, whom they have been corresponding with prior to the trip. In Year Five the group return again maintaining the friendships that they have formed a year earlier and, of course, trying to beat their slalom time to win the next proficiency award from the ESF!
