In the Summer term, pupils in Year Six enjoy an exciting classical tour based in the heart of Rome with the opportunity of visiting historic sites such as the Colosseum, the Vatican, the Forum and the Pantheon.
History that they have been studying is suddenly brought to life with fascinating sights and artefacts around every corner
From here the group travel south to Sorrento where they have the opportunity to climb Mount Vesuvius and visit Herculaneum and Pompeii.
The tour is based around historical and artistic study, and also allows for cross curricular links with subjects such as Latin, Geography and Religious studies.
Of course, despite the very busy schedule some time is also spent enjoying the local ice-cream in Rome and the beautiful scenery and coastal location of Sorrento!
