Through Eaton Square School's connection with Cothill House Preparatory School in Oxford, our Year Seven pupils spend the first half of the Spring term at the Château de Sauvettere, in the south-west of France. The château, near Toulouse, is owned by the Cothill Trust and pupils from Eaton Square School visit as part of their preparation for Common Entrance.
In their penultimate year, the children spend time at the château, which operates like a normal school except all the lessons are in French! Through their experiences, pupils are offered a wonderful opportunity to improve their written and oral French, as well as to develop personally and socially by acting as guests and hosts whilst living in a foreign country. The fine weather, delicious food and small numbers ensure that each child maximises their chances to grow academically and socially.
Many parents also take advantage of the chance to visit the pupils in these impressive surroundings over long exeat weekends!
