Eaton Square Nursery Schools
Early Registration is necessary to secure a place in the Nursery of your choice. Children are admitted at the three termly start points, in September, January and April according to their age and availability of places.
We would encourage parents to arrange a tour of their chosen Nursery School well in advance.

Eaton Square School
Registration can take place at any stage prior to the assessment procedures taking place at the age of three years, the year prior to entry.
Entrance to Eaton Square School at the age of four is via informal assessment. For pupils within the Eaton Square Nurseries the assessment is on-going through the first Half Term of the final year and is conducted by the relevant nursery staff teams. Information is fed through to the Headmaster and Head of the Pre Prep. and offers are made. It is very unusual for any children not to progress through to the Pre Prep School.
Children who attend external nurseries are invited to attend our Assessment Morning on one Saturday morning in November which is hosted by the Head of Pre-Prep, in association with the Head of Nurseries, and members of their staff teams. The children spend the morning, in small groups, in the warm and supportive care of the Eaton Square staff. The children are encouraged to relax and to interact with one another whilst engaging with a range of stimulating resources and craft materials.
This process, along with the detailed report from the candidates existing Head of Nursery, provides the school with information on their developmental level and their social development. The report from the pupil’s existing Head is paramount in this process as they know the children better than anyone else and can provide the whole picture to us.
7+ / 8+ Entry
Entry at 7+ / 8+ to the Prep. School is via papers which are based on age appropriate topics from the National Key Stage 2 Curriculum in English, Mathematics and Reasoning. These are supported by a detailed report from the candidates existing Head together with a pupil interview.
Entry to the Upper School, where pupils are prepared for GCSE / A level or 13+ Common Entrance, is via the ISEB Pre Test, their existing Head’s Report and a pupil interview. The ISEB Pre Tests are in English, Mathematics and Verbal / Non Verbal Reasoning and can be sat at either the candidates existing Prep School or here in Eaton Square School. The expectation is that pupils entering the school at this point, would be at an age appropriate National Curriculum level.
Should an occasional vacancy arise in other year groups the Registrar will arrange for pupils to spend a morning/day with an age appropriate class, where assessments in English, Mathematics and Verbal / Non Verbal Reasoning are carried out. These assessments are supported by a detailed report from the candidates existing Head together with a pupil interview. Visiting us for the assessment period also provides the candidates with a chance to experience a little of life at the school.
